Oak Hill Cemetery
GENERAL INFORMATION


No trees, shrubs or plants shall be planted in the
cemetery without the permission of the cemetery sexton.
The sexton can be reached at 231-phone.

The cemetery board may order any tree, shrub or plant
removed or pruned when it deems necessary.

The cemetery board shall have general supervision of
the cemetery and all work therein.

No flowers shall be permanently placed on graves unless
contained in a cement container. Bedding plants may be
planted 8-10 inches in front of base of monument, but
never over entire grave. All artificial flowers or artificial
containers, including wire, glass, silk or plastic, are
prohibited on cemetery grounds. Any non-conforming
arrangements will be removed.

Grave blankets, wreaths and other winter decorations will
be allowed from November 1 through April 15.

All monuments require appropriate foundations to be
installed by cemetry at lot owner's expense. Contact
Cemetery Clerk for more information.

All new graves must be mowable. All renovations to
existing graves must be mowable.

Oak Hill Cemetery is located in Benton Township just north of Aloha Township, five
miles southeast of Cheboygan on M33 in Cheboygan County. Oak hill Cemetery is
owned by the Townships of Aloha, Benton, Grant and Mullett. It is operated and
managed by a cemetery board. The board shall use the Oak Hill Cemetery
Ordinance to regulate this cemetery. All records for the cemetery are maintained by
the Oak Hill Cemetery Clerk.



  • A family can purchase up to a maximum of four burial spaces.
  • A cemetery lot can be from one to four burial spaces.
  • A resident or taxpayer of Aloha, Benton, Grant or Mullet township
    can purchase burial spaces for $100.00 apiece. Non-resident fee
    is $500 per burial space.
  • Storage fee, for non-residents only, during winter or frost
    months, or if no burial in Oak Hill, is $40 per month.
  • Cost of grave opening/closing is Adult $400; Baby $200;
    Cremation Urn $100. Fee to be paid when completed.
  • Costs are payable to Oak Hill Cemetery Clerk.
