March, 2010 Board Meeting Minutes
March 9, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Wooden, who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present were Supervisor Wooden, Treasurer
Vallance, Clerk Hempenstall, Trustee Hart and Trustee Churchill. A quorum was present. Nine residents were in attendance.

The agenda was approved with additions.

A motion was made by Trustee Churchill to accept the minutes of February 9, 2010 with the correction to the minutes to read that Trustee Hart made the
motion, supported by Treasurer Vallance to approve the monthly fax machine charge at the Clerk's residence, which was inadvertently omitted,
supported by Treasurer Vallance and approved by all. Motion Carried.

Treasurer's Report: IMMA $30,223.40. February deposits were $7.58. Transfers to General Checking were $9,100.00. Balance on Hand for February 28,
2010 of $21,131.07. General Fund checking cash on hand for January 31, 2010 was $202.87. February deposits totaling $9,100.17. Total
disbursements were $9,268.24. Balance on hand for February 28, 2010 is $34.80. Investments on deposit remained the same at $156,774.25. Total
worth of $177,940.12.

A motion by Clerk Hempenstall to accept the Treasurer's report, supported by Trustee Churchill and approved by all. Motion carried.

Clerk's Report: Clerk Hempenstall reviewed the correspondence with the board members. CCRC will be asking for a 1-mil millage request from
Cheboygan County residents. Clerk Hempenstall updated the board on the status of the municipal software program to begin in April.

A motion by Trustee Churchill to accept the Clerk's report, supported by Treasurer Vallance and approved by all. Motion carried.

Speakers:

L&R Disposal stopped by as a customer service call. Discussion regarding the decision by the board to place the garbage pickup contract out for bids.
Clerk Hempenstall to prepare a bid for garbage pick-up for the last Thursday of each month, and to be advertised in April, with a due date of all bids to
be in by May 7, 2010. Bid approval will be completed on May 11, 2010 a the Grant Township monthly meeting.

Commissioner Update: Commissioner Page spoke on events that occurred at the Cheboygan County Commissioners meeting to include speaking on
the recycling program, waterways ordinance, fairgrounds use and policies and fairgrounds camping.

Public Comment:

Commissioner Page spoke on April 14-22, 2010 being Earth Week. Events happening every day for entire week. Brochures available at the Cheboygan
County Building.

Supervisor Wooden spoke on the Board of Review status. There were 34 complaints totaling 2 1/2 days.

Old Business:

Summer Tax Resolution - A summer tax resolution with a motion by Treasurer Vallance for Grant Township to enter into an agreement with the
Cheboygan Area Schools with respect to the collection of taxes for the 2010 summer tax levy in the school district, supported by Clerk Hempenstall. Roll
call taken, with 5 yeas, 1 nays, 1 absent. Resolution adopted March 9, 2010.

Hall Rental Manager. Keith Kwiatkowski declined the position. Trustee Churchill advised that she would take over the rental of the Grant Township Hall.
All in agreement. Clerk Hempenstall to get with Trustee Churchill and turn over the additional keys, lease agreement and calendar.

New Business:

Fire Millage: The board reviewed the Fire Millage information sent by Attorney MacArthur. The 2010 Fire Millage Renewal to be signed on March 20,
2010 at the budget meeting.

Web Site: Trustee Churchill encourages everyone to have more input into what is added to the website.

Risk Control Recommendations: Tabled until April's meeting in order for the Supervisor to review.

Budget Meeting: A budget meeting will take place at the home of treasurer Vallance on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Notice to be advertised in
the Cheboygan Tribune.

Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting will take place at the Grant Township Hall on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Lunch will be provided. The
April monthly meeting will take place following lunch. Note to be advertised in the Cheboygan Tribune.

Pay Bills: A motion was made by Treasurer Vallance, supported by Trustee Churchill, to pay the bills in the amount of $9,907.92, and approved by all.
Motion Carried.

Adjourn: A motion was made by Trustee Churchill to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 P.M., supported by Trustee Hart and approved by all. Motion carried.
