The health and technology fields are two of the fastest growing industries.  North Central Michigan College and the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa
Indians WOCTEP grant have partnered together to offer community members certificate programs in these fields that are short, specialized and geared
toward the needs of the community. These certificates are designed to provide students with the tools necessary to compete within the industry and find
a job that is reliable and sustaining.

The certificate programs are:
  • New Media: Students will gain hands-on experience in the exciting area of digital and web-based audio and video recording, editing and
    presentation.
  • Graphic Arts: Students will gain hands-on experience working with several programs utilized in graphic arts design and production.
  • Entrepreneurship: Students will learn how to successfully start and manage their own business.
  • Medical Assistant: Places a special emphasis on the skills needed to work in physician's offices and health clinics and makes students eligible
to take the Registered Medical Assistant certification exam.
  • Nurse Aid: will prepare students for employment in physician's offices, hospitals and other health facilities via classroom and hands-on
experience. Students will also then be eligible for the Michigan Certified Nurse Aid examination.
