The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Agenda was presented. Motion by Hempenstall to accept the agenda. Seconded by Vallance. Carried.

Minutes of March 29, 2008 meeting were presented with a motion by Hempenstall to accept them. Seconded by Vallalnce. Carried.

Treasurer Report: IMMA $49,074.65. GF $44.19. CD $206,531.45. Total worth $255,650.29. Motion by Hempenstall to accept the report. Seconded by K.M. Hart.
Carried.

Cheboygan Area Library Minutes - filed.

Letter to appoint a Library Board member at the June meeting. (Ruth Gainor is the present member and still interested in being appointed.)

Property Tax Assessing Services (Robert Goodenough)

Letter from Cheboygan County Treasurer on foreclosed property in Grant Township on Chamberlain Road. Township has first option to purchase property.
Discussion followed. Motion by K.M. Hart to sign the waiver of first right of refusal. Seconded by Hempenstall. Carried.

Discussion of Black Lake Association treating the lake with other townships not wanting to contribute. No representative from Black Lake to answer questions.
No action on this matter - to be discussed at next meeting.

Discussion of ambulance millage with the Board of Commissioners wanting a letter of support for the .25% millage to be put on the ballot. Motion by Vallance
to draft a letter of support. Seconded by Hempenstall. Carried.

Discussion of building code wanting a bathroom to code for the new fire hall with rough plumbing. Not needing oil water separator in the floor. Central services
code requires bathroom. Questioned why this is needed for the fire hall.

Discussion of letter from Attorney McArthur about a $500 a year retainer fee for township services. Discussion of work done by McArthur during the last year.
Motion by Hempenstall to sign contract. Seconded by Vallance. Carried.

Discussion of recycling vote in August. O'Henely, manager of recycling, gave a quarterly report to commissioners. Tuscarora Township getting non-permit
usage. The bins are not attended full time. Commercial usage of cardboard, with contamination of bins low. County Commissioner Page and Twin Lakes
Assoc. positive about program with summer residents wanting in program.

Commissioner Page reported that the CCRC wants approval from the county commissioners for a millage on the ballot. Wanting a review and input of
Township and villages and wanting a plan on how the money will be used before approval.

Discussion of foreclosures in Cheboygan County in 2007 - total 360. So far in 2008 - 545. County authorized a foreclosure clerk full time instead of part time.

Duscussion of Jaycees to sublease property across from fairgrounds for Wanigan Festival with beer tent permit. Some disapproval from county organizations.

Trustee K.A. Hart attended the meeting at 8:00 P.M.

11 bid for the firehall were received. One bid was rejected because it was put into Wooden's mailbox on May 13. All other bids were received by deadline of May
12.

After reviewing and reading quotes again from the three lowest bidders, there was a motion by K.M. Hart to accept the bid from Jerry Brandt at $66,986.00 with
no additions. Seconded by K.A. Hart. Carried. All bids filed with clerk.

Discussion of terms and conditions for builder with 33% down, 33% at rough in and 33% when completed. Starting date of June 1 with 75 days to complete,
approximately August 31, 2008, weather permitting. Clerk will draw up contract.

Received $35.00 hall rental.

Motion by K.M. hart to pay bills #5759 to #5779 in the amount of $8,739.01. Seconded by Hempenstall. Carried.

Motion by Hempenstall to adjourn at 9:30 P.M. Seconded by K.A. Hart. Carried.
